Opportunity: The Senior Analyst generalist investing role on Capital Markets will play a pivotal role in supporting Värde's ambitious growth strategies across the firm. The role will offer a significant opportunity for career development and will sit within the high performing Global Capital Markets team, reporting directly to a senior member of the team. The Capital Markets team is responsible for the debt advisory and financing execution needs of the firm's investment book in both public and private debt markets, as well as for the firm's fund financing needs. The group is also responsible for managing relationships with key capital markets accounts globally. The role will work across Financial Services, Real Estate and Corporate and Traded Credit sectors by advising and executing on deal and fund financings while strategically advising management and the investment teams on the same. Summary of Responsibilities:

• Partner closely with the deal teams, alongside senior Capital Markets team members, to proactively develop appropriate financing strategies for the various Varde investing verticals
• Own and track financing-related market performance, deal technology and industry trends of relevant underlying asset classes including those in the consumer and small balance commercial space, corporate and holdco lending to financial companies, real estate debt and equity space, and loan on loan structures in order to influence investing activity
• Oversee daily workflow as it relates to financing activities to ensure efficient processes and key deadlines being met by partnering with the relevant internal teams
• Structure, negotiate and execute financing and securitization transactions
• Monitor effectiveness of financing and actively manage financing structures ensuring optimal financing is in place through the life of an investment
• Communicate financing strategy and status of transactions with broader Capital Markets team and senior management of the deal team
• Take an active role in the development and build out of strategic capital markets analytic models and presentations
• Serve as a brand ambassador for Värde, driving the positioning of the investing strategies firm growth objectives with key external counterparties
• Contribute as an active member of the growing Capital Markets team at Värde, helping shape, grow and drive the functioning of the team through strategic projects and the like

Qualifications:

• University degree required; finance economics or related preferred
• 5-7 years' experience in capital markets, investment banking, and/or similar finance role in an investment firm
• Fundamental understanding of finance, accounting, business and contract law
• Financial background with outstanding analytical and numerical proficiency
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Strong negotiation and documentation skills with astute commercial acumen
• Understanding of structured products instruments and/or fund financing vehicles, preferred
• Ability to maintain attention to minute detail while working under tight time frames with meaningful deadlines
• Exceptional work ethic in a transaction-oriented environment
• Personal characteristics of resourcefulness, self-motivation, collaboration, integrity and the ability to deal effectively with people in a variety of relationships and situations
