Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis + Operations Management

o Maintain financial models, including 10-year forecast updates as informed by management team.

o Create and manage 13-week cash flow forecast, budget vs actual analyses, and AP aging reports to support the execution of a prudent cash management strategy.

o Oversee production and organization of financial and operational KPIs for regular portfolio management meetings including:

  • Consolidation of financial model outputs into charts and other data visualizations;
  • Summary reports of natural gas and green attribute (environmental credit) sales by source, volume, price, and relative to market benchmarks;
  • Production and analysis of landfill gas flow reports and trend analysis, using sensors / controls data from 3rd party software vendor;
  • Review and analysis of capex and maintenance spend initiatives, including RNG upgrading facility expansion; and
  • Collaboration with landfill project manager and on-site operations professionals to synthesize key technical KPIs and incorporate into forecasting and budgeting.

o Support regular financial procedures including annual audit processes and valuation exercises.

o Preparation of presentation materials summarizing financial performance, progress on strategic growth initiatives, new landfill investment pipeline opportunities, for management team and board meetings.

o Support additional functions such as Tax, Accounting, HR, Legal, Compliance, IT, Operations and other areas as needed.

Business Development

o Serve as support for commercial efforts including customer contract execution and regulatory compliance management.

  • Support the execution of natural gas purchase agreements and green attribute dispensing contracts;
  • Collaborate with tax credit consultants to support cost segregation analyses and submission of reporting packages to ensure compliance with federal and state incentive programs; and
  • Research and analysis of renewable natural gas credit programs to support negotiations and execution of credit trading and hedging activities.

o Research and financial modeling to help support value creation initiatives.

  • Support new project development, due diligence of new landfill RNG project sites, and investment execution for new projects; and
  • Analysis of new value-add technologies to improve landfill facility performance.

o Support the execution of ad-hoc value creation initiatives, which may include business / product expansion opportunities.

  • Review and analysis of potential anaerobic digester investments; and
  • Spearhead RFP processes related to competitive bids for future development rights.

o Work with consulting partners to assess emerging federal and state legislation and communicate business implications and recommendations.

o Oversee regulatory reporting for applicable renewable energy credits.

Green Rock Investment and Portfolio Support

o Support all phases of Green Rock investment process including deal origination, analysis, structuring, and execution.

o Support financial modelling and valuation analyses, including three-statement integrated financial models and relevant valuation outputs/sensitivities.

o Monitor ongoing performance of portfolio companies which could include assisting in board presentation preparation and reviewing budgets/project schedules.

o Research and financial modeling to help support value creation initiatives across the Green Rock portfolio.

o Provide project support as needed in other Green Rock functional areas including fundraising / investor relations, operations, and fund management.

Qualifications

o Bachelor's degree required.

o 2-4 years of relevant work experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, transaction advisory, or a related industry.

o Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfort building financial models and presentations.

o Ambitious and proactive with a passion for impact investing, preferably related to sustainability and/or the climate transition.

o Detail-oriented, analytical, and resourceful with excellent organizational skills.

o Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to write effectively.
