Our dedicated team is committed to achieving excellence and driving meaningful advancements in the industry.RequirementsAs a Senior Analytical Scientist, you will be accountable for delivering results through both routine and non-routine analytical testing. Your work will support the development of:
- Microspheres for sustained release
- Nanoparticles for targeted drug delivery
- Lipid nanoparticles for nucleic acid delivery
You will develop and execute analytical assays to characterize particle size, API content, encapsulation efficiency, nucleic acid quantitation and integrity, in vitro release, and dissolution. You will also utilize key analytical methodologies, including HPLC, Capillary Electrophoresis, Gel Electrophoresis, ELISA, fluorescent microplate-based assays, and more.Key Responsibilities
- Perform analytical characterization of particulate-based drug delivery systems using techniques such as:
- Assays (API quantitation, lipid quantitation, etc.)
- Particle size
- Dissolution and /or in Vitro release
- Residual Moisture
- Osmolality
- Syringeability/Injectability
- Summarize and analyze data for technical correctness and accuracy.
- Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and write technical documents, including SOPs, analytical methods, drug release and stability protocols, and technical reports.
- Assist in training junior staff and interns, ensuring they are equipped to operate analytical instruments effectively (such as pH meter, balance and weighing technique, etc.)
- Maintain working knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, and scientific methodologies necessary to perform assigned tasks.
- Assist in routine equipment maintenance, lab cleaning, and restocking of consumables products and reagents.
- Collaborate with the analytical service team on the development of analytical methods for drug substance and product characterization (e.g., related compounds, assay, dissolution, residual solvents, etc.)
- Participate in method validation and tech transfer activities.
- Troubleshoot analytical problems related to instrumentation, general chemistry and methodologies.
- Adhere to Phosphorex's Environmental Health and Safety practices and SOP's, ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
- Support multiple projects in parallel, facilitating project teams' success in meeting objectives.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in chemistry, pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related discipline with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in a pharmaceutical analytical laboratory.
- Ability to execute analytical assays and summarize results effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with scientists and engineers across disciplines.
- Ability to work both independently and within an interdisciplinary team in a highly collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated experience contributing to multiple projects in parallel.
- Flexibility to occasionally work outside of standard office hours (9:00-5:30 PM) to meet project needs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Skills
- Experience executing fluorescent microplate-based assays (RiboGreen, Picogreen, etc.), chromatography, spectroscopy, and wet chemistry methods.
- Experience with instruments such as HPLC, UPLC, UV/VIS, fluorescence or multimode microplate reader, dissolution apparatus, and particle size analyzer.
- Experience in method development for early-stage drug development.
- Prior experience working within a CDMO environment
- Prior method transfer experience.
