Senior Associate - Healthcare Analytics (Phrma/Medical Device) Location: Los Angeles, CA, United States Date Posted: Dec 20, 2024 Description BRG currently has over 40 offices across the United States and internationally. The Senior Associate role is a junior consulting position within Berkeley Research Group's Healthcare Analytics practice. This position requires highly motivated problem solvers with solid analytical abilities, strong writing skills, and a desire to advance within the organization. The work will involve execution of engagement work streams that may be either qualitative or quantitative in nature. As a Senior Associate, you will support the development of expert opinions for use in litigation between entities primarily in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries on topics including but not limited to: drug development and commercialization efforts, contractual obligations in pharmaceutical licensing agreements, and the assumptions underpinning market analyses of pharmaceutical products. You will also support various business advisory projects, including but not limited to conducting compliance assessments of pharmaceutical operations, evaluating the value of pharmaceutical assets in the context of mergers and acquisitions, and assessing fair market value for various transactions within the pharmaceutical industry. Responsibilities: Assist in aspects of small to medium sized client engagements and discrete segments of larger projects. Conduct drug- and disease state-specific research utilizing both public and proprietary sources. Analyze financial, regulatory, and commercial documents related to both developmental and approved pharmaceutical products/medical devices (e.g., sales projections, communications from regulatory bodies like FDA, commercialization plans). Assist in drafting expert opinions based upon the results of your analysis. Prioritize assignments and responsibilities to meet goals and deadlines. Provide valuable contributions to client deliverables and expert reports. Participate in a team environment and work hard to meet client deadlines and quality expectations. Qualifications: 1-3 years of prior work experience with a focus on research and writing is required. Candidates with under 2 years of experience may be considered at the Associate level. Bachelor's Degree required; Advanced degrees in business, economics, or law highly preferred. Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry (e.g., pharmaceutical company or consulting firm focused on life sciences) is a plus. Prior experience as a law clerk, paralegal, or in a law firm setting is highly preferred. Prior experience synthesizing research findings into formalized work product. Keen interest in the pharmaceutical/medical devices industries. Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or other data analysis software is highly preferred. Proactive and results-driven with the ability to work independently. Desire to work in a team environment.
