Job Description :

Our client, a leading global investment manager, has recently established a new private credit fund and looking to hire a Senior Associate / VP within the team. The person must have a proven track record of underwriting private credit transactions and the ability to lead teams.

The ideal candidate is a sharp, hands-on investment professional with a strong foundation in credit. This individual thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, values teamwork, and brings flexibility and curiosity to the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct lending role working with the origination team to identify private credit investment opportunities, lead deal teams, and conduct in-depth credit analysis and due diligence on prospective investments.
  • Support or lead various aspects of transaction processes, including deal structuring, financial modeling, and preparation of investment committee presentations.
  • Assist in monitoring and managing portfolio assets, performing regular assessments of investment performance, credit risk, and potential exit strategies.
  • Coordinate analysis with our loan only/private credit research analysts to provide industry and market comp context for each transaction
  • Cover US sponsors and other sources of deal flow and develop meaningful relationships across the market, staying abreast of market trends and performing sector-specific research to support the team's investment theses.
  • Be able to effectively manage deal teams through all parts of the underwriting process while covering multiple transactions at the same time
  • Analyze and help develop credit documents such as loan agreements, amendments, and security agreements

Experience:

  • 4-10 years of underwriting experience with a strong credit discipline
  • Proven financial modeling skills, including experience with debt structures and familiarity with cash flow and risk modeling.
  • A team-oriented approach with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and handle a diverse set of responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively leading teams with strong communication skills and the ability to present complex information concisely to senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent sponsor relationships
  • Exemplary history of loan performance
  • BA/BS degree required
  • MBA degree, CFA designation viewed positively, but not required
