We work closely with studios and publishers to establish trusting relationships in order for us to deliver products and services that are unique to each of their needs.About the roleThe Engineering discipline at Wolfjaw Studios is the heart of our teams, focusing on developing and improving the features we curate for our client partners.We're involved in almost every aspect of development you can think of, with a focus on backend development for online game services.**This position has the opportunity to be fully remote, but for candidates local to Troy, NY a hybrid arrangement is possible****The following states are eligible for remote work: Arizona, California, Georgia, Florida, Idaho, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, North Carolina, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, and Vermont.**What we are looking for:Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively within your team and with clients.Experience with working in legacy codebases and being comfortable with exploratory work into the code base.You have previous experience standing up backend services or experience with networking.You are able to meaningfully contribute to discussions around architecture, design, and approach for any given technical problem within your realm of expertise.You contribute to identifying dependencies and constraints, both in software development and across teams.You are able to break down tasks into smaller, well defined tasks.You are comfortable working with a team in a version control environment (Gitlab, Perforce, etc.)Qualifications:You have experience working within the games industry with an understanding of the software development lifecycle.Experience working with C# and .NET.Experience with SQL.Experience with Redis.Experience with Message Queues.Experience with Linux/WSL.Experience with deploying applications to AWS, either on EC2 directly or utilizing tools such as Kubernetes or ECS.5+ years of programming experience; can include but is not limited to paid, volunteer, project, and academic workCritical thinking, with the ability to adapt quickly to change, communicate impact, and align with the new direction.Pluses:You have built or worked with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.You have experience with game development, preferably in C++ and/or Unreal Engine.Exhibits learning agility; has the ability to think differently, and/or grasp and apply new skills and concepts.Approaches problems in a clear, well-organized, and solutions-oriented manner.Able to effectively communicate problems, solutions, needs, or priorities.The ideal candidate will be a curious and enthusiastic self-starter who is interested in solving the unique challenges that games can have!
