Above all, we believe that collaboration is the bestHDR-NY is seeking to hire a Senior Bridge Engineer to work on bridge projects. The primary duties of the Senior Bridge Engineer will include providing technical leadership and direction to a team of bridge designers to produce technical solutions and designs on various bridge projects. The position will include providing technical direction to produce design criteria, design plans, design calculations, and specifications. The Senior Bridge Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the team completes the necessary analysis, design, and calculations required to substantiate the contract documents produced for any given project. It will be expected that the candidate be a team player ready to mentor bridge staff and to help grow the technical performance of the overall group. The Senior Bridge Engineer shall be well versed in both local and national bridge codes as well as involved in industry organizations in order to build the technical knowledge base of the group. The Senior Bridge Engineer shall also have experience in managing projects which includes managing project scope, schedule, staffing, and budget as well experience in effectively communicating with clients.In the role of Senior Bridge Engineer, we'll count on you to:Lead a team to conduct analyses, develop design solutions, and lead the preparation of design drawings, calculations, and specifications for bridge engineering projects.Perform engineering designs requiring application of standard and advanced techniques and procedures as well as bringing in past industry experience to strengthen the team to deliver excellent technical work.Perform quality control reviews of the design work being performed by the design team.Work independently on small technical engineering projects or lead a team of junior and mid-level engineers on larger technical projects.Responsible for the technical development of bridge projects from inception to completion.Aid in the preparation of technical proposals.Provide technical mentorship and development to younger staff.Represent HDR at industry technical seminars.Project management: Managing scope, schedule, staffing, budget, etc.Keyword(s): Senior Bridge Engineer, *LI-MP1QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.Professional Engineering (PE) License.10+ years of experience working in the bridge industry.Experience working in a team environment providing technical direction to a design team on minor and major bridge projects.Microsoft Office, AutoCAD/Microstation and either Larsa 4D Bridge Plus or SAP 2000 are requiredAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Civil or Structural EngineeringProfessional Engineering (PE) License in the state of NY and/or NJ.Experience with FB MultiPier and/or Leap Bridge Enterprise would be a plus.Strong preference given to local candidates with local experience.Why HDRAt HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for; it's also about what you do and how you do it.
