For more information, visit:www.gpinet.com Responsibilities: Project management and engineering, from conception to completion, including proposal preparation, design and construction documents, and construction administration under the guidance of senior managersActively participating in expanding our engineering operations and boosting our market reachSupport targeted and personalized outreach efforts for local and regional clients while retaining and improving current client relationshipsApply engineering principles and produce high quality deliverablesPrepare calculations and design documents including the assembly of plans and specifications for public advertisement and biddingAbility to work in a team environment and actively assist, mentor, and support junior personnelDevelop contract specifications and preparation of contract bid documentsReview design criteria using relevant codes and standardsPerform and review calculations using various software and/or hand calculationsCommunicate effectively and proactively address client queriesInterface with other internal technical disciplinesParticipate in relevant meetings and prepare progress reportsReview and provide Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) for project engineering deliverablesFollow required checking procedures, identify issues and problems, and develop appropriate solutionsDevelop and supervise the preparation of cost estimates for construction documentsAttend project meetings and participate in project site visits when requiredQualifications: BS Civil Engineering from an accredited universityNew York State Professional Engineer (PE) required10 or more years of meaningful experience related to bridge engineering design and managementShall be self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and demonstrate leadership skillsMust have preliminary and final design and plan production experienceBridge load rating experience is an additional benefitCompetent use of relevant software such as MS OfficeExperience and familiarity with computer drafting and structural analysis softwareA sound knowledge of AASHTO and NYSDOT Standard SpecificationsKnowledge of NYSDOT's Locally Administered Federal Aid project process for highway and bridge projects a plusGood writing and strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team to execute tasks in order to complete projects on time and budget#Pando Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final considerationRead, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English languageBasic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team membersAble to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while workingSummary GPI offers excellent benefits, including a 401(k) plan, ESOP, medical/dental/vision plans, paid time off, and more.
