Senior Business Systems Analyst

Our client, a leading financial services company based in Boston, is looking for a motivated and forward-thinking Senior Business Systems Analyst. This individual will have a focus on data product management, analytics development, and a strong ownership mindset. The Senior Business Systems Analyst will collaborate with analytics, data engineering, and QA teams to create, test, and deploy data-driven analytics solutions on a global scale. The role encompasses involvement in all technology-driven projects from initial conception through implementation and ongoing support. This position requires the ability to foster relationships with key stakeholders and deliver impactful, technology-driven products that provide actionable insights and drive operational efficiency across various business units. This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days per week onsite.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data-driven analytics solutions for business units, utilizing cloud data warehouses and business intelligence platforms
  • Act as a liaison between business users and development teams to manage the successful implementation of both large and small-scale products, addressing complex challenges
  • Lead analytics projects while ensuring adherence to high project standards and timely delivery
  • Evaluate and recommend technology solutions to ensure alignment with business needs, identifying potential risks, opportunities for improvement, and financial impacts
  • Gather, document, and validate business requirements for analytics initiatives, including data requirements, data flows, modeling, workflow designs, and user interface designs
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with business and technical stakeholders
  • Balance the duties related to production support with tasks surrounding data product development and management
  • Contribute to the creation of data product roadmaps that align with overall business strategies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business analytics, data science, management information systems, or finance/economics
  • 3+ years of experience working with business teams to support data product management and development; consulting experience a plus
  • Familiarity with data science coursework or certifications
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to present complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across teams
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools (Tableau required, Power BI preferred)
  • Full lifecycle experience in complex data analytics product implementations, including agile methodologies (Scrum)
  • Expertise in data modeling, transformation, and cloud technologies (AWS, Snowflake)
  • Experience with ETL tools (dbt) and technology architectures (data lakes, cloud environments, web interfaces, relational databases)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, proactively solve problems, and meet deadlines
  • Experience with reporting in financial systems like Workday ERP and Workday HCM/Financials is a plus
