Job Title: Senior Chemist

Location: New York

I am currently seeking a Senior Chemist for a leading Personal Care Contract Manufacturer, based in New York.

In this role you will be responsible for creative and technical aspects of specific product development categories.

Essential requirements

• Personal Care Contract Manufacturing experience - Skincare, OTC, Colour Cosmetics, Haircare formulation.
• 5+ Years related work experience.
• Bachelors/Masters in Chemistry, Biology or related field of Science.

Responsibilities

• Develop/refine Skincare, OTC, Colour Cosmetics, Haircare formulation.
• Complete tasks as directed, adhere to clear instructions.
• Oversee daily lab activity, working as a support function.
• Coach, train and mentor lab technicians and chemists.
• Independently complete product development projects from inception to completion.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve formulation challenges, including texture, fragrance, color, and ingredient compatibility.
• Demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness in proactively identifying solutions.
• Identify raw materials and technologies suitable for product development.
• Work cross functionally with marketing, product development, analytical testing facilities, process development and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with clients to understand project needs, provide technical expertise, and translate their requirements into successful product formulations.
