Senior Collector to join our team at Loyola University Medical Center. This role ensures accurate and timely follow-up on insurance and self-pay payments due for physician services. As the lead collector, the Senior Collector manages denied or rejected claims, prioritizes work queues, and conducts thorough follow-ups to resolve claims to a zero balance.
Responsibilities: - Resolve denied/rejected insurance claims, following payor appeal guidelines.
- Conduct timely follow-up to ensure claims are resolved.
- Document collection activities in Epic and IDX, ensuring accurate notation.
- Work to minimize write-offs, requesting them after thorough research.
- Assist manager with training and guiding collections staff, ensuring productivity and quality standards are met.
- Identify trends and issues within denials and present recommendations to management.
Additional Duties: - Update Epic registration and rebill claims as needed.
- Coordinate with patients for benefits, self-pay arrangements, and Medicaid/charity care applications.
- Assist with cash application and resolving credit balances.
- Collaborate with teams on denial management trends and testing claim edits.
- Provide training to new collections specialists and support current staff as needed.
- Support payor team in manager's absence and stay current with billing, insurance follow-up, and registration processes.

Shift 7:00am - 3:30am no weekend. Requirements: Minimum Education: Required: High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education Preferred: Associates Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education
Minimum Experience: Required: 3-5 years of previous job-related experience
