This position assists in producing strategies, products and events to increase awareness of, understanding of and confidence in the Central Plateau Cleanup Company's efforts to deliver on its cleanup mission at the U.S. Department of Energy's Hanford Site. Products include, but are not limited to, articles, social media content, slideshow presentations, posters, fact sheets, communications plans, videos, news releases and tours.We are looking for a Communications Specialist with a strong background and emphasis in videography, photography, video editing, and digital storytelling. This role is crucial in shaping how we communicate our progress and challenges in nuclear waste cleanup, both to company employees and outside stakeholders. You will connect with diverse individuals, making them comfortable sharing their stories, and develop strategies to convey complex information to a broad audience. While your office will be in Richland, this is considered an on-site position, and the selected candidate will be expected to spend at least half of their time in a construction-like setting, gathering video, photos, and interviews to communicate cleanup progress.A day in the life of a Communications Specialist includes, but is not limited to: * Gathering digital video and photo content using the latest tools and techniques. * Using Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, Media Encoder) and Final Cut Pro for producing high-quality visual content.* Managing lighting setups for both studio and on-location shoots to ensure professional results.* Live-streaming Microsoft Teams meetings and events to engage internal and external audiences.* Operating audio boards, microphones, and public address systems for seamless audio-visual experiences.* Posting and managing video content on social media platforms to enhance our digital presence.* Developing comprehensive communication plans and supporting event-planning activities to promote CPCCo's mission.* Collaborating with graphic design personnel to ensure quality and consistency in all media products.* Participating in the Hanford Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Team as needed, contributing to crisis communication efforts.* Gathering and communicating employee and public feedback to upper management to inform decision-making.* Translating complex details into accessible information for a broad audience.* Taking initiative to develop stories and effectively tell them in an engaging and connective manner.* Creating exhibits and displays that adhere to CPCCo's quality standards and branding guidelines.Basic Qualifications* Senior Level Grade 18: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with 8 or more years of relevant experience.* Senior Level Grade 19: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with 9 or more years of relevant experience.The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience.Desired Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in communications, Journalism, Digital Marketing, Digital Technology & Culture is preferred.* Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.* Experience in interviewing.* Experience in visual storytelling and shot composition.* Proven experience in communications and leadership within a commercial environment.* Experience in television news production is a plus.* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and other office software.* Strong research, drafting, and editing skills for written, video, and web-based communication.* Basic knowledge of Associated Press style.* Applicable knowledge of mac-based products, such as Final Cut Pro.Compensation & BenefitsIn accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours per week):* Senior Level Grade 18: $106,663 - $134,588.* Senior Level Grade 19: $117,225 - $147,775.In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.CPCCo's generous benefits package offers medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, 401(k) employer match and paid time off.
