Senior Compliance Associate

A successful and rapidly growing Nassau County based property management company is looking for a Senior Compliance Associate to oversee compliance and leasing functions for a portfolio of affordable properties throughout NYC.

The company maintains a satellite office in Brooklyn. Candidates based in Brooklyn or Long Island are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in marketing and leasing functions related to all affordable housing programs and applications, including lease-ups, remarketing assessments, and interviewing applicants.
  • Handle vacancy leasing for low, middle, and moderate-income units.
  • Process applicant appeals, including in-person applicant meetings.
  • Perform compliance file review and submit applicant files for approval in accordance with the project's regulatory agreement, IRS Section 42, Federal and/or State Marketing Guidelines, and HUD's Occupancy Handbook 4350-3
  • Completion of the move-in lease and initial certification process for assigned portfolio, including rental subsidy packages.
  • Participate in all tax credit reviews by outside entities/agencies for properties within assigned portfolio.
  • Maintain productive resident relations, including processing of additional occupants, transfer processing, sublet processing, etc.
  • Develop a full understanding of program related documentation such as Regulatory Agreements, Tenant Selection Plans, Affordable Fair Housing Marketing Plans and practices and update plans accordingly.
  • Update accounts and records during change of residency, trusts, or death in tenancy. Request and process needed information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Accredited housing certification preferred, such as Low-Income Housing Tax Credit or Certified Occupancy Specialist.
  • College degree strongly recommended or equivalent level of prior work experience.
  • Experience with housing software.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Possession of a NYS Notary License is not required but a plus.

Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 plus comprehensive benefits, PTO, and 401k.

The above salary range represents Advice's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base compensation range at the time of posting and is not reflective of the total compensation package, which may also include benefits, equity, and other non-cash incentives.
