In the role of Senior Construction Project Manager, we'll count on you to:
* Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams during construction of heavy civil construction in the transportation or railroad industry
* Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications to identify discrepancies, conflicts, or constructability issues
* Responsible for all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity, involving a large project staff.
* Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
* Establish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
* Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other staff and stakeholders.
* Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project life cycle and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule.
* Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedule.
* Work with the Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews.
* Implement QA/QC procedures.
* Supervise large project staffs and act as mentor for less-experienced Project Managers; including managing training of staff
* Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree
* PMP certification
* Experience with heavy civil construction in the transportation or railroad industry.
* Experience supervising direct reports and managing a team of people, supervisor training.
* Experience with MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Project, Other scheduling software.
* Must possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents.
Physical Expectations/Requirements:
* Must be able inspect any work on site without any physical assistance (such as ladders, man-lifts, underground structures, traverse uneven and irregular surfaces) except that which would normally be provided by the contractor's personnel.
* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
* Must be able to effectively communicate in person, by telephone and email.
* Must be able to effectively work in minimally supervised and/or unsupervised environments.
* Work hours other than 8 to 5 which may include weekends and/or night shifts
* Must have a valid Texas Driver's License.
* Travel may be required at times.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering
* 10 years related experience
* A minimum 5 years project management experience
* Professional Engineer (PE) license
* MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus)
* Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills
