Position Overview:
The Senior Construction Project Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of multiple commercial and industrial construction projects. This role requires an experienced, results-driven leader who can effectively manage teams, client relationships, and project schedules while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and cost control. You will work closely with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the overall execution of commercial and industrial construction projects from inception to completion.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate and manage all phases of construction, including design, procurement, permitting, construction, and close-out.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and vendors, fostering strong relationships and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project teams, including project engineers, superintendents, and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project specifications.
- Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and resolving any issues or risks that could impact the project timeline or budget.
- Review and approve project plans, change orders, and submittals, ensuring compliance with all regulations, codes, and contractual requirements.
- Lead project meetings, including client meetings, progress meetings, and coordination meetings with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety on all job sites.
- Collaborate with estimating and preconstruction teams to assess project scope, costs, and potential risks.
- Mentor and support junior project managers and staff, providing guidance and leadership in their professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a senior role managing commercial and industrial projects.
- Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects in the commercial and industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts, budgeting, scheduling, and safety standards.
- Expertise in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and resolve complex issues efficiently.
- Strong financial acumen with a proven ability to manage project budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- LEED or PMP certification is a plus, but not required.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
