The candidate will be a valued team member that manages a large portfolio of commercial agreements; drafts and negotiates a wide range of agreements with our customers and vendors; anticipates, investigates, and protects the company against risk exposure; advises and provides counsel to stakeholders on legal matters, including but not limited to the status of agreement negotiations; oversees legal matters with outside counsel; and exhibits a willingness to learn. The candidate may also have management and mentoring responsibility for one or more team members.What You'll Bring:Juris Doctorate (JD) degree required, an active bar license in good standing, and four to six (4-6) years of experience, with at least four (4) years of experience as a practicing attorney (in-house or law firm) focused on U.S. commercial transactions involving information services.Knowledge and understanding of the following areas of law are preferred, but not required: FCRA, GLBA, DPPA, privacy, technology (e.g. Artificial Intelligence), intellectual property, business organizations, and partnering arrangements.Knowledge and understanding of insurance regulations (specifically those regarding the use of traditional data and ECDIS in insurance underwriting and rating) and sunshine laws, such as state and federal FOIA.Participates in internal regulatory reviews of products and solutions.Strong organizational, analytical, and critical-thinking skills (root cause analysis, problem solving, issue spotting, and decision making).Ability to read, interpret, and advise business partners on complex documents, including laws, contracts, business documents, system documents, company policies, and procedures.We're also looking for the preferred skills below.
