Under the supervision of a Custodial Supervisor - Clean assigned areas, patient rooms, nursing station, ancillary rooms, exam rooms, procedure rooms, conference rooms, office's, hallways, corridor, public areas, etc. Operate vacuum cleaners, buffers, wall and window washing, shampoo machines and floor machine. Sweep, strip and wax floors. Perform isolation room cleaning. Perform high and low dusting. Clean vertical and horizontal surfaces using the approved cleaning solutions. They have knowledge in the correct use and storage of disinfectants, cleaning solution, soap, detergents and floor waxes preferred.

Salary range: $20.05 - 25.91/Hourly

* Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy while directing co-workers.

* Ability to interact effectively with patients, customers and associates in a way that exhibits superior integrated customer service and teamwork.

* Ability to operate all types of housekeeping equipment (vacuum cleaners, floor machines, carpet extractors, auto scrubbers, pressure / steam cleaning machine etc).

* Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.

* Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.

* Ability to take initiative and follow through.

* Ability to work within defined time constraints.

* Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.

* Excellent organization and problem solving skills.

Must be able to frequently:

* Bend waist while standing.

* Lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.

* Stoop and squat.

* Twisting and bending of the neck forward and backward.

* Work in standing position for long periods.

Senate Bill 525 was signed into law by Governor Newsom in October 2023. Starting June 1, 2024, SB525 sets a new $23 minimum wage for nonexempt healthcare workers and raises the exempt employee salary threshold to $1,380/week (equivalent to $5,980/month or $71,760/year).

1. As defined under SB525, healthcare workers are defined as employees who are involved in the provision of health care

services, which means patient care-related services including nursing; caregiving; services provided by medical residents,

interns, or fellows; technical and ancillary services; janitorial work; housekeeping; grounds keeping; guard duties; business

office clerical work; food services; laundry; medical coding and billing; call center and warehouse work; scheduling; and gift

shop work; but only where such services support patient care .

2. Employees (career, contract, student, per diem) in the UCLA Health medical facilities (e.g. Ronald Reagan Medical Center,

Santa Monica UCLA Hospital, Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital, etc.) meet these criteria.

As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts a conditional offer of employment will be required to disclose if they have been subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct; received notice of any allegations or are currently the subject of any administrative or disciplinary proceedings involving misconduct; have left a position after receiving notice of allegations or while under investigation in an administrative or disciplinary proceeding involving misconduct; or have filed an appeal of a finding of misconduct with a previous employer.
