Position Summary A Senior Data Governance Analyst focuses on guiding our team members to value data as we do other assets. This involves identifying, defining, and protecting our critical data as well as building and executing a data maturity plan. This position will support our Home Building Group.
About The Team Data Governance is part of the larger DEA&G team (Data Engineering Analytics & Governance). These sub-teams work together to enable data-driven decision making at Clayton. Data Governance focuses on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework and Master Data Management (MDM) for data policies, standards, and practices, to achieve the required level of consistency, quality, and protection to meet critical business objectives and initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities - Develop and roll out a framework to focus on the improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, governance metrics, processes, related tools, and data architecture.
- Lead specific workstreams within the Data Governance. You will work with business SMEs, data managers, development managers, portfolio managers, product owners and other supporting team members to provide sound data governance practices across the organization.
- Support the development of data management practices & processes.
- Train and onboard new data managers to execute data quality on their respective focus areas.
- Train and onboard junior Data Governance Analysts.
- Define and script Data Quality standards.
- Develop tools and services to support the data governance program e.g. Data Quality Testing, Data dictionaries, Metadata management, Access controls etc.
- Develop and roll out the data maturity framework.
Primary Qualifications - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent technical and business experience
- 5+ years of professional business experience with a progressive track record of accomplishments in Information Governance, Data Governance or Data Management.
- 5+ years of experience with database modeling and query writing (SQL)
- 5+ years of experience with Tableau, SSRS, Python and/or R
- Experience leading others and/or large projects
Desired Skills - Knowledge of data warehouse & business intelligence principles for relational database platforms
- Great analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good judgment using analysis & experience and the ability to handle stressful situations
- Ability to influence and effect changes that have broad and long-term impact on the company
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse group of team members, including executives, managers, end users across a variety of business unites, Technology professionals, and subject matter experts.
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Solid understanding of Data Governance principles. Experience with MDM, change control, quality and security as well as industry best practices.
