Senior Data Product Analyst

Full-time | Hybrid

Summary: We are a leader in access solutions, offering innovative products such as cameras, locks, card readers, garage door openers, and gates, all powered by our digital ecosystem. We are a leader in the Smart Home industry with one of the largest IoT install bases. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our Decision Intelligence Group (DIG). This hybrid role combines next-gen Business Intelligence (BI) analysis and Analytics Engineering to develop data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will work closely with business partners to understand their challenges, ensure the accessibility of data, and facilitate informed decision-making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the data product subject matter expert, collaborating with business leaders, data engineers, data scientists, software engineers, and other developers.
  • Liaise with business partners to understand data needs, gather requirements, and translate business problems into technical solutions.
  • Develop and implement data models, tables, and dashboards to help the business interpret data, derive insights, and make informed decisions.
  • Design flexible and comprehensive dashboards for quick data access and interpretation.
  • Promote the adoption of data solutions across multiple teams.
  • Create training materials, conduct webinars, and provide hands-on training for business analysts.
  • Conduct independent research on product experiences and data, providing findings and recommendations.
  • Explore and onboard new third-party data sources to enhance business performance.
  • Adopt best practices for building analytical insights, including data integrity, testing, design, analysis, validation, documentation, and training.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members on best practices and creating business value.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality to protect the organization's reputation.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continued education and networking.
  • Contribute to team efforts by participating in projects as needed.
  • Build STTMs and technical resource documents.
  • Profile new datasets/source systems.
  • Engage with internal application teams at a technical level.
  • Work with various data formats, e.g., querying/flattening semi-structured data like JSON.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in Analytics/Business Intelligence, leading projects, and building actionable, data-based solutions in a cloud environment.
  • Advanced experience with data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
  • Intermediate experience with Python 3, focusing on Pandas, Polars, or Spark for data analytics (similar R experience acceptable).
  • Experience creating self-service analytics within Azure Cloud architecture, PowerBI, and/or Databricks.
  • Experience working with large data volumes (structured and unstructured).
  • Experience with Azure Synapse, Databricks, ADLS Gen 2, Google Analytics, Firebase, Big Query, Event Hubs, Kafka, Salesforce, SAP, and CDP platforms like Tealium.
  • Experience building web-based data visualizations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong proficiency in SQL.
  • Strong understanding of data warehouse/data modeling concepts and procedures.
  • Strong business acumen to help partners identify their true data needs.
  • Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead projects independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to develop, document, and deliver end-user materials such as training or project artifacts.
  • Working knowledge of Azure cloud-based architecture and PowerBI.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with project management/tracking tools such as Jira.
  • Experience with source control tools like BitBucket.
  • Experience working with a software/technology organization.

Education/Certifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Power BI Development and Design-related certification.
