We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our Safety Insights Data Science team, and lead strategic and product analytics for Reddit users' on-platform safety experiences, as well as our safety signals foundation. You will partner with Consumer Safety and Safety Signals product and engineering teams, as well as user researchers and fellow Safety data scientists. Your impact will be in the forms of strategic influence, execution support, and org contributions to the data science function and the Safety Org.The Safety Org is one of Reddit's biggest divisions, and Safety Insights works across the entire org to provide qualitative (user research) and quantitative (data science) insights for product development, scaled abuse detection/mitigation, threat intelligence, and safety operations. We unravel hard problems that cut across safety domains, and guide product development to protect our users from bad experiences. In the Safety Insights team, we value asking who's missing, surfacing the deeper questions, up-leveling our peers, and facilitating good conversations. Our job is tough, but the impact is huge.Responsibilities: Use data to inform strategic directions of consumer safety and safety signals product development, and understand the impact of product launches;Tactically support product development, product launch and go-to-market;Derive user insights and problem insights from data, and partner with User Research to combine qualitative and quantitative evidence for better decision-making;Improve Safety Org's logging/eventing, data warehouse, self-service analytics, and data practices.Required Qualifications: 4+ years of data science and product analytics industry experience2+ years of experience in product development focused on user experience; trust & safety experience is a bonusProficiency with relational database (SQL), programming (Python), statistics, experimentation, and causal inference analysesMotivated and self-directed, demonstrated ability to innovate and bias toward action in fast-paced environmentsAbility to communicate and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiencesAbility to tackle ambiguous and undefined problemsPay Transparency:This job posting may span more than one career level.In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission.
