The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in analog and mixed-signal circuit design, including ADC and DAC architectures, power electronics, and ASIC design for high-reliability applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop high-performance analog circuits for A/D and D/A conversion, including SAR, Flash, Sigma Delta, and Pipeline ADCs, as well as serial DACs, R2R, and current-steering architectures.
- Implement low-noise and high dynamic range techniques, including sample acquisition/hold circuits, bandgap references, oscillators, op-amps, switched capacitor circuits, active filters, phase/frequency control loops, and stability analysis.
- Work in both time and frequency domains to optimize circuit performance.
- Develop and analyze power electronics/power management solutions, including Buck/Boost converters, LDOs, charge pumps, and inverters utilizing MOSFET, IGBT, SiC, and GaN power devices.
- Design and verify analog/mixed-signal ASICs using Cadence or Tanner tool suites.
- Conduct radiation-hardened circuit design, including rad-lot testing, ionizing radiation effects analysis, single event upset, and total dose impact evaluation.
- Interface with sensors such as LVDTs, synchros/resolvers, and encoders.
- Apply control theory and matrix mathematics, including Z-domain transforms for digital control and motor control simulation (Clark and Park transforms).
- Perform thermal, electrical stress, worst-case, FMEA, tolerance, aging, and EMI minimization analyses.
- Utilize CAD tools such as LT-Spice, P-Spice, OrCAD, Allegro, and Pantheon for simulation and design.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (Masters degree preferred).
- Experience in analog circuit design across multiple ADC/DAC architectures.
- Expertise in power electronics, ASIC design, and high-reliability applications.
- Knowledge of radiation-hardened electronics and their impact on circuit performance.
- Strong background in control systems and digital signal processing.
- Proficiency in electrical simulation and CAD tools for circuit design and verification.
