Senior Director, Investor Relations

Seaport Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Director of Investor Relations (IR). This role will play a pivotal role in developing and executing Seaport's overall investor relations strategy to effectively communicate Seaport's value proposition, program progress, and company plans to the investment community. This role will plan, execute and drive all activities contributing to the successful execution of Seaport's investor relations strategy. It requires a strong understanding of the biotech landscape, experience working with investors, and ability to build and maintain relationships. This is the perfect opportunity for an individual to join a high performing team for a growing clinical-stage biotechnology company.

This role will report to the Chief Financial Officer and is expected to be in the Boston office three to four days a week. This role will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Team, and the VP Communications.

Responsibilities

  • Support the CFO and CEO in the development and execution of a comprehensive investor relations strategy tailored to Seaport's portfolio, stage of development, milestones, and trajectory
  • Serve as a key point of contact for investors, sell-side analysts, and other members of the investment community, supporting the CFO and CEO in providing timely and accurate information about Seaport's programs, pipeline, and milestones · Collaborate with cross functional teams to drive the development of key messages and impactful materials and presentations for investors that are aligned with key messages (e.g., press releases, quarterly reports, conference call scripts, slide presentations, and Q&A documents) to be used by senior management for investor events including one-on-one meetings, non-deal roadshows, and investor conferences
  • Develop strategic targeting analyses and meeting prioritization; track all company interactions; analyze and monitor the company's shareholder base
  • Lead coordination of investor relations conference calendar and help drive an active IR calendar to support the communication of Seaport's strategy and key milestones to investors
  • Analyze economic and sector updates, analyst research, investor sentiment, and competitor activity to deliver actionable insights to the executive leadership team

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in in-house / agency investor relations with publicly traded biopharmaceutical companies
  • Experience in a biopharma organization required
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business or related field, MBA preferred
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the biotech/pharma landscape, including regulatory, clinical, and commercial dynamics
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with the biotechnology investment community

Skills:

  • Understanding of pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry, finance, and capital markets
  • A proven collaborator who enjoys working across functions and levels
  • Knowledge of SEC requirements and Regulation Fair Disclosure; knowledge of ESG disclosures
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with absolute discretion
  • A flexible self-starter who can anticipate needs, maintain composure, and has situational awareness in a dynamic setting
  • A well-organized multitasker who can prioritize and manage shifting responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • A strategic thinker with excellent verbal and written communication skills
