Job Description Senior Director, Department of Pediatrics, MSK Kids Exciting opportunity at MSK : We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Director to lead our Department of Pediatrics at MSK Kids. You will be responsible for providing strategic direction to a management team across multiple functional areas, including administrative, operational, academic, clinical, and research. This role involves managing a staff of over 400 employees and ensuring the delivery of competent, efficient, and coordinated patient- and family-centered care across various settings. Role Overview:
Develop and drive the overall strategic goals of the Department of Pediatrics in partnership with the Chair. - Oversee day-to-day administrative operations, clinical care, patient programming, family support, laboratory and clinical research, funding, and education/training.
- Ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
- Manage resources, including financial, personnel, and space, to support clinical, research, and training missions.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including executive and senior leaders, department chairs, and clinical leaders, to execute strategies and plans.
- Advance pediatric clinical research and translational research into young onset cancers.
- Play a significant role in business development initiatives, communications, marketing, donor relations, patient programming, and family support services.
- Maintain a network of external resources for benchmarking and standards of care.
- Partner with leaders of Advanced Practice Providers, Pediatric Nursing, Clinical Research, Hospital Operations, and interdepartmental patient programs.
- Collaborate closely with MSK Office of Development and MSK Marketing and Communications to maintain and promote the MSK Kids identity.Key Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare management, with a focus on pediatric care.Core Skills: Operations Management: Strong knowledge of professional nursing standards, staffing, and regulatory requirements; including due diligence in leadership practices - validation and accountability. Strategic Vision and Execution: demonstrated business acumen and capable of setting and driving priorities.
