Our client, a small, values-driven CRO, is seeking a Senior Director of Business Development who resides in either RTP or Boston. To be considered for this role, candidates must have previous CRO experience selling clinical research services (specifically clinical trial servives) to sponsor companies. The Sr BDM is a key strategic leader responsible for delivering sales, growth, and expansion of the company's services. JOB DUTIES
- Act as the primary point of contact for key existing clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded; cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key players in each account
- Identify and develop new and potential clients within assigned territory
- Work closely with the executive team to achieve company goals
- Identify emerging market trends and business opportunities; develop and execute comprehensive marketing and business development strategies and initiatives to achieve revenue targets and market expansion
- Conduct market research and outreach to identify potential clients and understand their needs and degree of interest in company's products, services, and timeframe. Utilize established tools outlining ideal customer profile and client/opportunity qualification.
- Negotiate budgets and scope of work to secure new business
- Oversee the preparation of proposals and presentations; manage full-cycle bid proposal and bid defense process
- Track and report on KPIs related to business development activities
- Ability to travel as needed
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- BA/BS degree, preferably in business, marketing or sciences
- 7+ year's related sales and business development experience
- Previous experience selling clinical research services (specifically clinical trial services) in a CRO environment is required.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
