Position Overview:The Senior Director of Logistics will oversee and manage the logistics and purchasing strategy for Dutch Bros, a leading coffee chain focused on blowing customers minds by thoughtfully serving amazing quality drinks. This senior leadership role is critical in ensuring the seamless flow of products from suppliers to last-mile distributors, optimizing transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and third-party distribution processes to meet the company's operational goals. The Senior Director will work cross-functionally with the procurement, supply chain optimization, coffee, parts, equipment and operations teams to drive efficiency, cost reduction, and exceptional service levels across the network of stores and distribution centers.Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, engineering, logistics, finance, or a related field, required
  • Master's degree, preferred
  • 8 additional years of logistics/supply chain management experience
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills

Location Requirement: This role is located in the Greater Phoenix area. This position is required to be in office 4 days per week (Mon-Thurs); Fridays are optional remote work days.Key Result Areas (KRAs):
  • Team Leadership: Build, lead and manage an effective team that is focused on customers, growth, execution, innovation, and safety.
  • Strategic planning: Plan and implement the overall logistics, purchasing, and transportation strategy; assess external opportunities and threats and internal capabilities required to meet demand and achieve desired positioning.
  • Supply Planning: Lead a team that designs, updates and shares theoretical inventory quantities to the distribution team as well as to designated supply chain partners, accounting for supply chain variables that occur in the production, transportation and warehousing network.
  • Logistics & Purchasing Optimization: Collaborate with the supply chain optimization and procurement teams to optimize inventory levels, streamline freight processes, and reduce lead times. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to retail locations while minimizing stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Vendor and Partner Management: Manage relationships with key logistics providers, freight carriers, 3PL partners, and warehouse operations. Negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and ensure that all parties meet service level agreements and compliance standards. Closely monitor and manage the production of business critical, high volume products of third-party partners. Align inventories to match the established supply plan while mitigating any supply risk and price volatility.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage data analytics and business intelligence tools to monitor logistics performance, identify trends, and generate actionable insights. Use data to drive continuous improvement in delivery efficiency, cost savings, and customer satisfaction.
  • Logistics Goals, Cost Controls and Budgeting: Oversee the logistics budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and identifying opportunities for cost reductions across transportation, warehousing, and distribution. Report regularly on logistics performance and cost savings initiatives. Establish and report on KPIs, goals, and long-term milestones aligned to the organizational goals, reconciling with FP&A where applicable.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to transportation, warehousing, and product safety. Identify and mitigate risks in the logistics network, including disruptions caused by weather, geopolitical factors, and supply chain volatility.
  • Technology & Innovation: Champion the adoption of new logistics technologies and automation tools to improve operational efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, integrating innovations that enhance the logistics function.

Physical Requirements:
  • In-Office Environment: Must be able to work in a busy, crowded, and loud office with frequent distractions and interruptions
    • Must be able to collaborate in-person with occasional impromptu in-person meetings
  • Office Conditions: Adaptability to typical office conditions, which may include exposure to air conditioning, heating, artificial lighting, and varying noise levels
  • Mobility: Ability to sit, stand, reach, twist, stretch, and work at a desk for long stretches. Must be able to occasionally move or lift office items up to 25 pounds
  • Hearing Requirements: Hearing must be sufficient or correctable to ensure clear understanding of spoken information, including participating in virtual meetings and phone calls. Use of hearing aids or other assistive devices is acceptable if needed.
  • Reading and Writing Proficiency: Ability to read and write in English is essential for processing documents, drafting reports, and following up on necessary actions. Proficiency in written communication is required to handle job-related tasks effectively.
  • Vision Requirements: Vision must be adequate or correctable to perform essential job duties, such as reading documents on a computer screen and using other visual tools. Use of corrective lenses or other measures to meet visual requirements is expected if needed.
  • Technology Proficiency: Must be proficient in operating a computer and other office productivity tools such as printers, scanners, and collaboration software.
  • Effective Communication: Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders via email, video conferencing, and other in office communication tools.
