Job Overview
Myriad Genetics is seeking an accomplished Senior Director of Scientific Affairs to lead efforts at the interface of product development and evidence generation, focused primarily in solid-tumor oncology and emerging liquid-biopsy applications like minimal residual disease (MRD) testing. This individual will leverage their extensive expertise in molecular biology, bioinformatics, product development, computational data analysis, and scientific publishing to advance the awareness, performance, clinical adoption, and patient access of Myriad's products. The leader will oversee a team of scientists and collaborate with cross-functional teams both internally and externally to help our products reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a team of computational scientists who help to design and execute analytical and clinical studies, analyze the data from those studies, and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external collaborators to get them published at conferences and in journals.
* Author and review scientific manuscripts, abstracts, and conference presentations to communicate key findings and innovations from Myriad's research efforts.
* Distill learnings from analytical and clinical studies to identify areas of improvement in our assays and, as appropriate, actively implement those improvements.
* Engage directly with external collaborators in academia, pharma, and community medicine to elevate the quality and impact of results from clinical studies.
* Work with regulatory groups internally and externally to secure timely and efficient approval of Myriad offerings.
* Stay current with advancements in genomics, bioinformatics, and oncology, ensuring Myriad remains at the forefront of diagnostic innovation.
Qualifications
* PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
* 10+ years of experience in clinical diagnostics, bioinformatics, and product development, with a focus on non-invasive technologies and oncology.
* Strong publication history and experience presenting scientific data at national and international conferences
* Proven track record of leading teams to develop and commercialize diagnostic products, with expertise in MRD, cfDNA, and multi-omics approaches.
* Extensive experience managing collaborations with academic institutions and industry partners.
* Expertise in bioinformatics tools such as Python and R, with the ability to lead computational biology projects and data analysis.
* Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts for a range of audiences.
