RWE Clean Energy, LLCTo start as soon as possible, full time, permanentFunctional area: EngineeringRemuneration: ExemptThe Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the engineering development and design of electrical, power, lighting, fire alarm, and lightning protection system construction documents associated with new buildings and renovations for consulting design projects, and design-build projects. The Senior Engineer will oversee and mentor junior electrical engineers, designers, and computer-aided design (CAD) technicians. Associated responsibilities include but are not limited to: engineering design of electrical systems including CAD drafting, specification writing, cost estimating, field investigations and construction site visits, energy analysis, electrical load calculations and SKM modeling, lighting calculations, and coordination with others. Duties also include performing site visits, construction site visits and coordination with other disciplines such as mechanical and plumbing.Responsibilities:Lead and manage the design of electrical, power, lighting, fire alarm, and lightning protection systems for new and renovated building construction that will be constructed by the Owner's contractors (traditional engineering consulting services)Lead and manage the design of electrical, power, lighting, fire alarm, and lightning protection systems for building retrofit construction on design-build projects that will be constructed for the OwnerConduct studies and analyses of electrical systems documenting the conditions, presenting cost-effective solutions, and generating reports with recommendationsPrepare project specifications along with supporting informationPerform/attend job site visits to verify and document existing construction conditions and to observe and document the contractor's workPrepare engineering criteria and selection of equipmentConduct select engineering calculations for equipment and systems sizing. Perform load, photometric, voltage drop, short circuit, and harmonic calculations using computer modeling programs such as SKM, AGI, and ExcelConduct energy audit walk-thru of facilities to document existing conditions and identify retrofit opportunities for energy conservation. Write detailed reports of investigated lighting and other electrical retrofit energy conservation measures (ECM) to be used to develop an Investment Grade Audit (IGA) to serve as the basis for a performance contractMaintain an understanding of applicable technical standards for commercial, industrial, and healthcare facility design and energy service projects. Research and stay abreast of new technologiesWork with the Senior Engineering Manager to identify and maintain electrical engineering procedures that will improve production efficiency and quality of electrical system designs to maximize the Company's profits while minimizing its risks and liabilitiesQualifications:Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineeringRegistered as an electrical professional engineer is requiredMinimum of 10 years of experience for the Senior Engineer position in Electrical systems design to include; power, lighting, lightning protection, fire alarm, and other systems designExperience in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems is a plusExperience in energy audits is desirableAble to plan and manage the development and production of conceptual, preliminary, and construction documents for the construction of electrical systems including; power, lighting, lightning protection, fire alarm and PV systems.Able to interact effectively across organizational boundaries to achieve goals and meet deadlinesGood knowledge of local and national building codes and standards including; State Building Codes, NFPA Codes, USBC LEED standards, and ASHRAE 90.1Experience in the overall integration of design engineering, construction, start-up/turnover, and subsequent operation and maintenance of electrical systemsStrong leadership and communication, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage customer relationships and ability to meet deadlinesStrong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverablesAbility to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a teamMotivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilitiesExcellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams and skillful with computer software including AGI lighting software and ETAP or SKM various modules softwarePay range: The annual base salary range for this position in New York is $123,000 - $185,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations.
