Senior Employment Law Attorney (Remote)

Join our premier defense law firm, established in 1996, specializing in employment law, general liability, and more. As a Senior Employment Law Attorney, you'll bring your extensive experience to lead defense strategies and manage high-profile cases, particularly with school districts and public entities. This role offers the flexibility of remote work with the support of a strong, dynamic team and access to comprehensive benefits and professional development opportunities.

Salary: $220,000 - $250,000 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent school districts in employment law defenses effectively.
  • Advise and represent clients in litigations and disputes related to employment law.
  • Handle class actions and PAGA cases with detailed attention and knowledge.
  • Engage with third party administrators to ensure legal compliance in employment practices for schools.
  • Manage and negotiate settlements proactively to ensure client satisfaction and compliance with the law.
  • Work closely with the legal team to develop defense strategies and implement best practices in employment law.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years in employment law defense.
  • Proven track record in school district defense and working with school third party administrators.
  • Bachelor's and Juris Doctor degrees from accredited institutions.
  • Active member of the State Bar of California in good standing.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in class/PAGA laws.
  • Exemplary research, analytical, and negotiation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trial experience in employment law defense.
  • Experience in public entity defense.

Skills:

  • Superior command over written and oral communication.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple cases with attention to detail and timing.
  • Proactive case management and client interaction abilities.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and analytical thinking.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.
