Senior Engineer – Electrical (On-site) - HEPCO : Job Details

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Electrical Engineer with 7 to 10 years of experience in the commercial and industrial construction industry to support a growing list of projects in the New York Metropolitan Area. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of power system design and a solid foundation in electrical engineering. Collaborate with the team to create construction documents and perform reviews to meet tight schedules. Provide technical design services and ensure compliance with Electrical Code. Mentor junior engineers and oversee construction activities under the direction of the lead electrical engineer. Conduct load calculations and prepare electrical design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications. Select electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers. Manage junior engineers in preparing comprehensive engineering reports and documentation. Perform engineering design evaluations and lead project-specific engineering design. Conduct construction oversight and field inspections for quality control. Collaborate on marketing materials and proposals as needed.Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an approved equivalent. 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, design, QA/QC, and construction oversight. Comprehensive understanding of the NEC, building codes, and general construction practices. EIT or PE preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, and construction document drafting practices. Familiarity with Civil 3D Software is a plus. Must possess a valid NYS Driver's License or a nearby state equivalent.Key Skills: Proficient in electrical power and lighting software. Ability to coordinate and collaborate with multiple technical disciplines.
