As an industry leader in space avionics, actuation and mechanisms, propulsion, power, structures, and shock and vibration control, the company has been committed to the space industry for more than 60 years and company products have been to every planet.Day- to-Day Responsibilities:
- Assign programs and projects to direct reports in timely manner and monitor these tasks so they are completed within technical, cost, and schedule constraints.
- Provide personal development for assigned direct reports by conducting performance reviews, training, mentoring, and monitoring career development.
- Lead the development of strong engineering teams within the site that execute the business.
- Support the succession planning engineering talent.
- Mentor and coach the development of new engineering leads to develop the leadership depth to support business growth and succession planning across sites.
- Work on assigned programs directly as a member of a program team in support of technical and programmatic goals.
- Identify and implement strategies that take advantage of synergies across multiple projects or programs. Look to improve the efficiency of the overall engineering approach.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the broader organization by providing input to the engineering strategy.
- Interface with the company's customers in a professional and ethical manner in order to support staffing and technical needs of programs.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve engineering processes for the supported business so that the processes are effective in meeting the needs of the customers. Assist in the creating of new processes to support the business.
- Expected to resolve problems that arise.
