About the job:

An award-winning consulting engineering firm located in Elmwood Park, New Jersey is seeking a mid-level candidate with 3 or more years of experience who is willing to join our growing environmental/hazmat team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Asbestos and other hazardous substances investigations and sampling of suspect materials, investigation report writing
• Assist Project Manager with management of asbestos abatement oversight projects/QC visits
• Assist in development and/or review of abatement and remediation plans and specifications. Ability to read architectural and mechanical drawings
• Ability to work effectively under a deadline
• Ability to work both in the office and in the field
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment if working in hazardous conditions

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Required: current NYC DEP Asbestos Investigator license and NYS Asbestos Inspector certification
• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field
• 3+ Years of experience in Asbestos Inspections/Investigations with knowledge of applicable regulations for New York State and New York City
• Proficiency in computer applications: Word, Excel, Power Point, etc
• Good writing and communication skills
• OSHA 10-hr. and OSHA 30-hr. Construction Safety
• NYSDOL Project Monitor, Designer, Mold Assessor and EPA Lead Inspector certifications are a plus
• Knowledge of CAD is a plus
