What You'll Do:
As a Senior Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in preparing competitive bids and ensuring project success. You will:
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and proposals to develop detailed time, cost, and labor estimates.
- Assess project cost-effectiveness and track actual costs relative to bids as projects progress.
- Pursue work through alternative delivery methods (ADM), Construction Management at Risk (CMAR), Design-Build (DB), and Job Order Contracts (JOC).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Review bid documents, lead bid closures, and host internal project reviews.
- Assist project managers in developing budgets and addressing change orders.
- Visit job sites regularly to identify and implement improvements on projects.
- Develop and refine cost models, vendor lists, and estimating labor/equipment rates.
- Conduct studies to reduce costs and improve project efficiency.
- Participate in weekly management and performance evaluation meetings.
What You Bring:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Construction or Civil Engineering (preferred).
- Experience: At least 10 years in construction estimating or a related field.
- Expertise: Advanced knowledge of construction industry operations, estimating methodologies, and the client market.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical abilities.
- Adaptability: Ability to prioritize and adjust to shifting project needs, while maintaining a meticulous approach to work.
- Commitment to Safety: Adherence to all safety policies and procedures, while promoting a culture of safety for employees and subcontractors.
