Over our 105-year history as a co-operative, Sunsweet has become the world's largest and most famous brand of dried tree fruits like prunes, apricots, mangos, and more! We have grown to represent nearly 200 grower-members with orchards throughout California - which accounts for more than 25% of prune production around the world. That's about 50,000 tons of our world famous Sunsweet Prunes a year.Our signature products are Sunsweet Prune Juice and Sunsweet Pitted Prunes. We have the largest retail market share for both of these products.Sunsweet has a 1,000,000 square foot prune pitting and bottling facility in Yuba City, a 385,000 square foot bottling facility in Pennsylvania and a new 100,000 square foot prune pitting facility in Chile.In addition to our Sunsweet branded products, Sunsweet copacks beverages for Pepsi, Tropicana and Ocean Spray. Our healthcare and 401k benefits are very good but we also have an alternative work schedule allowing you to take most every other Friday off.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other related duties may be required and assigned.
  • Work with management to gather required information to prepare annual budget and long-term forecasts.
  • Maintain all forecast models. Make changes when necessary and ensure all inputs flow to Profit/Loss, Cash Flows, and Balance Sheet reports.
  • Work with cost center managers to prepare annual budgets and revised forecasts. Send out preliminary budget workbooks. Coordinate and ensure they are completed by deadline.
  • Upload budgets into accounting software. Ensure uploads were performed correctly.
  • Prepare quarterly updates.
  • Assist in preparing presentations to the Board of Directors, Banks, and Sunsweet Management.
  • Analyze monthly production variances; summarize cause and effect, and corrective action required.
  • Monitor automated freight to customers and deployment rates. Develop/ maintain warehousing and catch all plant rates. Work with IT to correct errors.
  • Perform freight cost centers over/under absorption analysis.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end analyses and reports for senior management and auditors.
  • Conduct profitability analysis on requested customers/products.
  • Generate weekly yield/loss report for production cost center managers.
  • Work with IT to implement planning and reporting tools.
  • Provide sales and cost data for insurance purposes.
  • Ad hoc reporting.
  • Accounting Technical Advisor on special projects.
  • Assist in other inter-departmental activities as needed.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge/Skills:
    • Analytical outlook and experience with financial reporting.
    • Knowledge of Power BI to help develop reports and dashboards.
    • Advanced Excel Skills.
    • Expert knowledge of US GAAP.
    Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost/financial accounting with manufacturing exposure.
    • Desire for growth into a management role.
    Physical/Safety Requirements:
    • Tolerate extended periods of sitting at desk.
    • Ambient noise is louder than a traditional office setting.
