Job Description :
The Senior Human Resources Manager will lead the Human Resources function ensuring the effective implementation of HR strategies and initiatives collaborating with the central functions of Mission Critical Group. This role involves managing employee relations, performance management, training and development, and compliance with labor laws and regulations. The Senior HR Manager will work closely with the VP, General Manager, PEP leadership, and the VP of HR at MCG to foster a positive work environment and drive organizational success. This position is based in Belle Chasse, LA and will require bi-weekly travel to Bay St. Louis, MS. RequirementsResponsibilities:
  • Provides strategic direction and leadership to the PEP leadership team and HR team.
  • Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting open communication. Implement programs to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with MCG and implement and manage performance appraisal systems, providing guidance and support to managers and employees to achieve performance goals.
  • Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and career development. Coordinate and deliver training sessions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with MCG and PEP leadership in managing a compensation strategy for all employees based on industry market research and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.?
  • Collaborate with the safety team to promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and analyze HR metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement. Prepare and present reports to plant leadership.
  • Continually analyze existing processes and policies, identify gaps and lead resolutions projects?to ensure consistency and fairness across the organization.
  • Oversee the company's drug and alcohol program, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, including the Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements including managing testing, training, and reporting procedures.
  • Oversee the company's talent acquisition strategy by working closely with PEP Talent Acquisition Partners
Required Knowledge/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skill/Abilities:
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task, and work under pressure in a demanding environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Extensive data analysis skills
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of and experience with various HRIS systems. Paylocity experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Supervisory Requirements:
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations
  • Assists in overseeing the daily workflow of the HR departments
  • Act as a coach and mentor to employees in the HR departments
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees following company policy?
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • FLSA executive and professional positions paid on a salary basis, where project requirements and tight client deadlines may require workweeks over forty (40) hours (including weekends or holidays)
  • This role will work in an office setting, however frequent visits to the production floor are required to oversee operations, ensure compliance and safety standards and engage in staff.
  • Mobility: Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs.
  • Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to twenty-five (25) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards.
  • Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the plant safely and communicate effectively with team members.
