Job Description: Senior Interior Designer (High-End Workplace Design)

Position Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced and talented Senior Interior Designer to join our dynamic, high-end commercial workplace design studio in New York City. The ideal candidate will bring a strong design sensibility, technical expertise, and proven leadership in delivering exceptional corporate workplace and commercial interior design projects. This role requires a deep understanding of workplace design trends, proficiency in Revit, and a collaborative approach to working within a fast-paced and innovative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design process from concept through completion for high-end office spaces, lobbies, conference rooms, meeting rooms, and amenity spaces.
- Develop innovative and functional design solutions that align with client objectives, brand identity, and project budgets.
- Collaborate with project architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure cohesive and integrated design solutions.
- Manage and mentor junior and intermediate designers, fostering growth and professional development within the team.
- Oversee the preparation of design presentations, including mood boards, material samples, and 3D visualizations.
- Prepare and review detailed construction documents and specifications with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance with local codes and regulations.
- Lead client presentations and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate and select finishes, materials, furniture, and fixtures that reflect the project's design intent.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively, ensuring timely and successful project delivery.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
- A minimum of 8 years of professional interior design experience, with at least 5 years specializing in corporate workplace and commercial interior design in the New York City market.
- Proven expertise in high-end office design, including lobbies, conference rooms, meeting rooms, and amenity spaces.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit is required; proficiency in additional design tools (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, furniture systems, and lighting for workplace environments.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing project teams and mentoring designers.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills with a client-centric approach.
- Strong project management skills, including budget and schedule management.
- In-depth knowledge of New York City building codes and regulations.
- Ability to work legally in the United States without visa sponsorship.
