We are looking for a Senior IT Project & Operations Planning Manager responsible for coordinating resources, scheduling, and aligning priorities across all IT Operations team activities, from project-based initiatives to essential operational tasks. Reporting to the Director of IT Operations, this role ensures that the team meets diverse organizational needs, balancing proactive project work with critical operational support. The Senior IT Project & Operations Planning Manager will lead strategic planning and resource allocation, proactively shape delivery standards, and mentor team members. The role applies agile project management methodologies for structured project workstreams and leverages Kanban methods to manage and prioritize more reactive, run-the-business tasks efficiently.
What you will do:
- Operational Prioritization and Roadmap Management:
- Collaborate with IT Operations management to create and maintain a roadmap that encompasses both project and run-the-business activities.
- Use agile planning and prioritization techniques to balance short-term fixes and improvements with strategic, longer-term project initiatives.
- Stakeholder Coordination, Communication, and Alignment:
- Serve as the main point of contact for aligning on incoming requests, communicating priorities, and coordinating timing with stakeholders.
- Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, operational status, and roadmap adjustments, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational priorities.
- Facilitate roadmap presentations and status reviews, proactively addressing potential changes, risks, and impacts on timelines to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
- Agile Project Management:
- Lead agile project management practices, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, to maintain team momentum and ensure incremental progress.
- Champion agile methodologies to improve workflow efficiency, ensuring project and operational work are completed in an iterative and adaptive manner.
- Resource and Capacity Planning:
- Develop a comprehensive resource plan in collaboration with IT services teams to allocate team members effectively across projects, operational tasks, break-fix activities, and small improvements.
- Forecast resource needs and adjust allocations dynamically based on project timelines and operational demands.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Implement process improvements that streamline resource management, agile practices, and operational prioritization.
- Use feedback from agile retrospectives and other tools to continuously refine team practices, enhancing both responsiveness and efficiency.
This is a remote US role with a preference for candidates based on the East Coast. ŌURA employees in major cities (like Boston or New York) occasionally gather informally at local co-working locations.
Requirements
We would love to have you on our team if you have:
- Experience: 6+ years of IT project management experience, ideally within Infrastructure & Operations or IT workplace services teams.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring team members and leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Resource and Operations Management: Demonstrated experience in balancing project and operational work for a technology or IT-focused team.
- Agile Project Management: Proficiency in agile methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, with hands-on experience managing projects using agile principles.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to work cross-functionally, build strong relationships, and manage expectations effectively across all levels. Skilled in aligning stakeholders, navigating competing priorities, and driving consensus.
- Strategic Planning and Adaptability: Proficiency in managing shifting priorities and quickly realigning resources as needed.
- Regulated Environment Experience: Experience working in regulated environments, particularly supporting healthcare or government sector contracts, with a strong understanding of compliance controls and regulatory requirements.
