BAE Systems, San Diego Business Center (SDBC) is seeking a talented Java Developer with strong fundamentals to implement, and design, novel algorithms and software features to meet mission needs. Experience integrating with external components and APIs and working with schemas is important. The candidate must also be able to test their software at all levels (unit test, integration test, system test), and will be responsible for deploying and maintaining operational and test systems, along with troubleshooting ad hoc site issues as they come up.
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Must be a US Citizen who is eligible to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and 8 years of experience.
+ Strong Java, Docker, Kubernetes and Helm experience
+ Strong Java foundation, including:
+ Write unit tests in JUnit
+ Ability to debug source code
+ Use Maven to manage dependencies and package software
+ Work with third-party libraries and documentation
+ Write robust code with appropriate error checking and handling
+ Experience with managed container development and deployment technologies
+ Writing Dockerfile specifications and working with docker images/containers
+ Developing helm charts and deploying applications to Kubernetes environments
+ Understand complex system architectures and debug errors spanning multiple components
+ Must have a strong understanding of sound software development principles and practices
+ Must be able to plan and prioritize personal tasking and be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
+ Must be an independent thinker, capable of performing high quality work, both independently and with a team, in a fast-moving environment.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Experience in software development on Agile teams using Agile Developer practices
+ Familiar with Rancher, RHEL 8 and Java17 platform
+ Familiar with Spring Boot
+ Familiar with Postgres DB, Kafka and Redis
+ Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology, SAFe Agilest Certification, or past experience as a member of an agile team.
+ Experience with React.js, Angular.js or Ember.js
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $115100 - $195700
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
