Job Description :
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties as assigned)
  • Working independently and managing a team of 4-8, maintain machinery, equipment, and facilities as needed and as efficiently and timely as possible
  • Assist in monitoring inventory on site
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions
  • Understand and ensure application of biosecurity protocols
  • Enforce and follow all PRM protocols
  • Review and submit employee timecards to ensure accurate recording of hours work.
  • Responsible for the training, development and performance evaluation of maintenance technicians
  • Coordinate tasks ranging from simple part replacement, advanced troubleshooting and preventative/predictive maintenance interventions ensuring that equipment is properly configured and/or set up
  • Help coordinate work from outside vendors or contractors as needed
  • Complete required paperwork for maintenance protocols or activities
  • Provide clear and effective instruction to technicians and managers
  • Oversee the maintenance planning and scheduling activities to assign work orders for your areas
  • Ensure care and proper use of company assets, including vehicles, tools, and equipment
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or directed.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONSEducation:High School diploma or GED preferredA.S. or B.S. degree with an agricultural or construction management focusAdequate experience in the maintenance field in lieu of degreeExperience:3+ years of experience in Production, Operations, and/or MaintenanceExperience troubleshooting issues, identifying, and completing appropriate repairs, and implementing measures to prevent reoccurring maintenance problemsWorking knowledge of the operations, control, and functions of equipment and machineryStrong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with operational leadersCustomer oriented and have the ability to apply independent thinking and judgement to address conflict resolutionWork Environment:Agricultural swine environment in rural areaNoise levels that may require hearing protection in some areasPhysical Requirements:Standing, walking and ability to be on feet 8 to 10 hours per dayFrequent bending, reaching, squatting and kneelingFrequent use of one or both hands/arms to grasp or pullFrequent lifting of objects weighing 3-20 poundsOccasional bending while pulling and/or lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds or requiring up to 100 pounds of force to move with the assistance of another person as neededAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingAbility to attend and participate in meetings of various lengthsAdditional Requirements:Must qualify to drive a company vehicle per insurance company requirements based on MVR
