The purpose of this position is to lead and manage the Commercial Finance Function with a primary focus on analysis. This includes providing comprehensive evaluations of income statements, forecast, current and future trends and performance. Additionally, the Senior Manager will develop tools tohelp the company make informed strategic decisions impacting the bottom-line performance.

Provide comprehensive evaluations of income statement impacts due to variations in pricing, volume and mix, and compare these to forecast. This includes customer and channel profitability analysis. Analyzing the root causes of fluctuations in the income statement on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Comparing actuals to latest forecast, budget and year-over-year results.

Collaborate with the Sales, Marketing and Business Development Teams to analyze observed trends and develop projections for future performance. Provide insight on past trends and work with Financial Planning and Analysis and the Demand teams to incorporate actual trends and future outlooks into a streamlined forecast.

Evaluate and interpret sales discounts, allowances and brokerage resulting from things such as damaged products, short shipments and fees from incomplete orders. Work hand in hand with Sales and the Order Center highlighting discounts taken by customers and helping to mitigate these costs going forward.

Develop and maintain a costing tool for prospective customers and volume analysis. This tool should enable the identification of growth opportunities within the customer base and uncover additional product costing possibilities. The goal is to provide actionable insights that can drive strategic decision making and enhance overall business performance.

Maintains and fosters strong communication and relationships across organization. Works to be an active clearinghouse of ideas, concerns and activity on behalf of the full commercial team. Acts as a champion for the business and team. Acts as an idea leader, building compelling and persuasive business cases to ensure alignment, gaining broad-based support for and resource allocation to the activities of the team.

Participates as a member of the Team. Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical Activities: Enters and locates information on a computer. Visually verifies information, often in small print. Move about in a manufacturing environment, office environment, and surrounding property.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): As required by visiting facility.

Travel: Travels as needed; to and from multiple facilities, sometimes requiring overnight stays.

Technical Experience: Ideally 5+ years of experience in Commercial Finance, Sales and/or Analytics or other relevant area. Highly proficient with MS Office applications; advanced skills in Excel required. Comfort with using data mining software; Tableau competency highly preferred.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or other business related field.
