Overview
One of the largest publicly traded commercial and investment banks in Southern California is looking to bring on a Senior Manager, Financial Reporting. The firm specializes in commercial lending and financing within the real estate and the entertainment space.
Purely because of growth, the firm is building out its financial and regulatory reporting function. The Head of the group is looking to bring on a new Senior Manager who will be responsible for managing the regulatory reporting function and certain SEC areas. The ideal candidate for this role has at least 5 years of bank regulatory experience, specifically covering FR Y-9C, FFIEC 009.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review regulatory bank filings (such as Call Reports, FR Y-9C, FFIEC 009, etc.), as well as handle ad hoc projects and climate-related reporting as needed.
- Stay informed of and implement updates to regulatory requirements.
- Assist with the ongoing review and interpretation of new GAAP and regulatory pronouncements; develop position papers outlining their impact on the company and manage the implementation of new accounting and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with both external and internal auditors and regulators on reporting matters, ensuring clear communication. Review various reports and schedules for internal stakeholders and auditors, and support the audit process for financial statements and related disclosures.
- Review internal reporting requirements, including the preparation of the monthly Board package.
- Lead and manage the reporting team to ensure compliance with reporting deadlines and requirements, providing guidance and support to team members.
- Contribute to various special projects aimed at enhancing and streamlining reporting processes.
Qualifications
- CPA license, other relevant accounting certifications accepted.
- 8+ years of public accounting, and/or public company SEC or regulatory reporting experience (banking or financial services).
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, banking regulatory requirements.
- BA/BS in Accounting/Finance, MBA preferred.
