Position Summary:

The Airport Finance Manager at IAH manages the airport's accounting and financial reporting activities. Responsibilities include accounting, analytics, financial metrics preparation, treasury, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. The position is also responsible for implementing policies and procedures to ensure the proper safeguarding of assets and maintenance of proper internal controls over financial reporting.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee Money Room Team, ensuring accuracy and integrity of cash reporting and enforcing accountability for terminal cash controls.
  • Work closely with Senior Leadership team by creating analytics on key financial metrics to improve profitability.
  • Oversee the Accounting Team, ensuring timely entry of invoices into the system and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Analyze and accurately report daily, weekly financial results in accordance with company format and time requirements.
  • Ensure accuracy of physical inventory and investigate book-to-physical adjustments.
  • Perform audits of invoices to ensure accurate cost accounting.
  • Prepare weekly forecasts associated with COGS.
  • Manage United enplanements for different airports.
  • Prepare weekly variance reports from actuals to budget and strategize for achieving company objectives.
  • Review and approve monthly accruals for accurate reporting.
  • Analyze weekly schedules to ensure operational efficiency and budget adherence.
  • Collaborate with Terminal Director to provide necessary reports for operational goals.
  • Conduct terminal walkthroughs to ensure enforcement of operational policies.
  • Assist in the completion of special projects.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years as controller or cost manager in a hospitality/food and beverage/retail environment, managing a staff.
  • Demonstrated leadership as part of a cross-functional management team.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop staff.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound planning and organizational skills.
  • High level of proficiency in spreadsheets and accounting systems.
  • Travel as required.
