Looking for a lifetime career Apply today!Job DescriptionThe Test Facility Design Engineering (TFDE) Unit has the primary responsibility for the development, design and fabrication of unique test loops and test hardware used in testing applications for thermal hydraulic and fluid dynamics, motors and electric drive, materials and chemistry and component testing at the Riverview Test Facility (RTF). Our TFDE team is looking for an energetic and self-motivated Mechanical Engineer that enjoys working in a hands-on environment. TFDE engineers design, procure, and build test equipment that perform fundamental research and prototypical testing for current and future nuclear propulsion plant designs. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing designs and modification for new and existing test loops to improve capabilities and reliability, provide field engineering support to assist troubleshooting of test equipment and test section issues, and will work with test directors, test operators, test sponsors, drafting, and skilled labor to design, construct, operate and maintain testing equipmentRequired Combination of Knowledge and SkillBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 6 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 4 years of relevant experience; or Currently or previously Shift Supervisor Part I qualified; or EDO qualified and 2 years EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or 3 years SRE qualified and Water Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and Fuel and Barrier Shift Supervisor (ECF only); or SRE qualified and 6 years of experience.Preferred Skills
  • Experience with fluid and thermal systems (pressure vessels, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, piping systems, etc.)
  • Familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel, and ASME Piping Codes
  • Knowledge of pressure and temperature instrumentation and controls
  • Knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing techniques, preparing technical specifications and cost estimation
  • Ability to manage large and complex design project throughout the test facility life cycle
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 computer applications including Visio

Pay Range$92,900.00 - $145,200.00 annually Salary information provided is a general guide line only.
