Senior Research Associate or Associate Scientist
Location: Local Candidates
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (No overtime or weekends)
Contract Duration: ASAP through July (Temporary coverage for leave of absence)
Hourly Rate: Sr. RA (under $40/hour) or Associate Scientist (under $50/hour)
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled, motivated temporary team member to support our Cell Therapy R&D team while one of our scientists is on leave. This role will provide valuable assistance across multiple tasks and projects, primarily focused on iPSC cell culture, differentiation, and CNS research. Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years of relevant experience and be flexible, proactive team players. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to meaningful work in a dynamic, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wet Lab Work: Maintain iPSC culture, differentiate cells into CNS cell types, and perform various assays related to cell therapy.
- Cell and Molecular Biology Techniques: Apply expertise in techniques like flow cytometry, RNA sequencing, and immunocytochemistry to support research goals.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the team to fill in gaps and support ongoing projects, taking on tasks the team cannot cover during the leave of absence.
- Data Analysis & Documentation: Contribute to the analysis of experimental data and assist in the preparation of technical reports, ensuring high-quality documentation and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Must-Haves:
- Expertise in iPSC cell culture and differentiation, specifically into CNS cell types.
- Experience with cell and molecular biology techniques (e.g., flow cytometry, RNAseq, immunocytochemistry).
Additional Skills:
- Experience in a human pluripotent stem cell laboratory.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience (For Sr. RA Role):
- Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, or related field required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in stem cell culture or related lab work is preferred.
- Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB) is a plus.
Education and Experience (For Assoc. Scientist Role):
- BS degree or higher in biology, neuroscience, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in molecular or cellular research.
- Experience with disease modeling or assay development is preferred.
