Acts is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Senior Payroll Specialist.

In this role, you will be responsible to perform all activities necessary to prepare and process payroll for the companys exempt/non-exempt employees for multiple entities in multiple states, including maintaining related records, deducting all appropriate taxes, and processing voluntary and involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments, responding to employee inquiries, and documenting and updating procedures.

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelors or associates degree in accounting, finance or related business field required
  • Minimum of three years' payroll experience in processing multiple entity and multi-state payrolls
  • CPP designation is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Lawson/INFOR preferred; or working knowledge of an in-house payroll system acquired from on-the-job training sufficient to process non-exempt and exempt payroll on one processing schedule
  • Working knowledge of all payroll policies and procedures (e.g. overtime or premium time calculation, pre-tax deductions, social security, and FICA wage maximums, calculating off cycle checks)
  • Working knowledge of other internal systems (Kronos preferred), which involves auditing of timecards for correct pay calculations
