Senior Planning Engineer, Transmission Integration - New York ISO : Job Details

The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) manages the efficient flow of electricity on more than 11,000 circuit-miles of high-voltage transmission lines, dispatching power from hundreds of generating units across the state.NYISO in Rensselaer, NY seeks a Senior Planning Engineer, Transmission Integration to conduct studies regarding system reliability, economic, and regulatory impacts on the transmission system. Analyses performed by Senior Planning Engineers support transmission infrastructure development in New York State to meet public policy needs, including New York State's climate goals.Senior Planning Engineers will participate in planning activities with neighboring control areas, market participant committees, the New York State Department of Public Service (DPS), North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), Northeast Power Coordination Council (NPCC) New York State Reliability Council (NYSRC), and Eastern Interconnection Planning Collaborative (EIPC).Requirements: Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Economics or related technical field.The successful candidate must have two years of experience as an engineer in the power/energy industry to include power system planning and working with the following software: •Power flow and transient stability applications software (GE PSLF, Siemens PSSE)Salary Range: $78,520.00 to $137,155.00/yearTo apply for this position, please visit us online at #LI-DNISalary Range$78,520-$137,155 USD
