Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Pre-litigation Paralegal (Prelitigation Case Manager) to join our dynamic team, with the flexibility to work onsite at our Philadelphia office location, listed above. This role involves managing a caseload of approximately 100 personal injury cases from intake up to case settlement, ensuring excellent customer service through regular client communication, and independently handling various aspects of case management, including opening claims, conducting investigations, and maintaining accurate records. If you have over 10 years of experience in prelitigation case management, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, we invite you to apply and become a vital part of our dedicated team. The Lead Pre-Litigation Paralegal will also serve as a team lead, overseeing the work and mentoring junior Paralegals. This position offers a hybrid schedule of 3-days on-site per week, if you live more than 40 minutes away from any of our PA offices.Responsibilities as a Prelitigation Paralegal Team Lead: Team Leadership:
- Provide guidance and direction to the team, setting goals, and developing strategies to improve efficiency and productivity
- Tracking the team's daily metrics and overdue Tasks.
- Moving overdue tasks to ensure compliance
- Help manage your team's caseload, ensuring that deadlines are met, and cases are progressing as planned
- Train new Case Managers, Case Managers in Training, and Case Administrative Assistants
- Preparing and filing legal documents, ensuring compliance with legal procedures and deadlines
- Overseeing team and workload management, addressing conflicts, and inspiring high-quality professionalism
Case Manager:
- Your own Pennsylvania caseload of 100 personal injury cases from intake until the case goes to litigation
- 30 days calls with clients regarding medical care, providers, notating and updating about their current treatment status - Provide excellent customer service
- Capable of independently reviewing cases, conducting investigations to gather necessary information for cases where initial claims are unsuccessful, and establishing No-Fault and Bodily Injury claims as required.
- Ability to open claims with insurance companies
- Knowledge of No-Fault applications, filing of claims/procedures, deadlines
- Knowledge of the processing of lost wage claims
- Knowledge of retrieving police reports
- Knowledge of personal injury threshold - Verbal, Zero, etc.
- Knowledge of Motor Vehicle Indemnification Corp procedures
- Ability to set up property damage claims
- Ability to obtain Property Deeds
- Conduct Corporate Business search about premises liability claims
- Knowledge of OPRA & FOIL requests
- Knowledge of Personal Injury Statutes of Limitations - NJ, NY, PA
- Ability to accurately enter information in the Litify insurance tabs, & provider tabs about medical facilities and insurance info.
- Obtaining/documenting outstanding liens: medical liens, worker's compensation liens, etc.
- Update and maintain client information in the Litify database
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Prioritize tasks effectively and consistently meet deadlines
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience as a Prelitigation Paralegal or Prelitigation Case Manager---handling Personal Injury cases for the state of PA
- Has previous experience handling a caseload of 100 case files or more, using a Case Management System, such as Litify, Needles, Clio, MyCase, etc.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Previous experience leading junior prelit paralegals or junior prelit case managers
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and consistently meet deadlines.
- Past Experience using a CMS (Case Management System) such as, Litify, Needles/NEOS, Clio, MyCase, File Vine.
- Paralegal Certification or Past Work Experience as a Prelitigation Case Manager or Prelitigation Paralegal
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus, but not mandatory
Annual salary is based upon the years on prelitigation personal injury experience.
