Job description JOB PURPOSE / RESPONSIBILITIES This position is for a Principal with the Organization Strategy solution in North America which advises clients on driving their business and organizational goals through talent. We do this by working with clients in various areas including Organizational Analytics & Design, Work & Career Architecture, People Strategy & Performance, Culture & change, and Top Team Performance At Korn Ferry, Principal consultants work closely with colleagues to deliver customized and multi workstream solutions to solve critical client issues. In addition to delivery, business development and client relationship management are important focus of the role. You will therefore have an opportunity to contribute to bids, create solutions, as well as to manage/lead client relationships and projects of considerable scope and complexity. In this role, the specific expertise required is a blend of Organization Design capability and Workforce Analytics. We are looking for people who can provide clients with strategic advice that is grounded in data backed insights. This could be in the form of internal or external client data and benchmarks. Ideally you will have formal experience in operating model design, organization structure definition, strategic talent deployment, and comfort with analytics/ design tools such as Visio, OrgVue, etc. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing effective client relationships and being a part/ directly managing accounts including aspects of effective project delivery, business development, and client networking
- Independently leading strategic workstreams and/or small projects. Typical projects will have between 1-5 team members and will run for 6-12 months. You maybe expected to manage delivery of multiple workstreams/ projects simultaneously.
- Identification of opportunities to do follow-on/ additional work and cross-selling of Korn Ferry products, services, and solutions. Further, you will contribute to winning profitable business by proposal writing, pricing, shaping opportunities, pitch preparation
- Mentor and support team members through providing continuous feedback on project work as well as development advice, and coaching
- Developing at least one core area of expertise within Korn Ferry's advisory offerings. This includes contributing to thought leadership, solution development, conducting research, and continuous innovation.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- 7-10 years of work experience in the organization strategy/ transformation practice of a management consulting firm or in-house strategy team, with a steady evolution of responsibility
- Proven track record of managing client delivery including helping clients in different sectors/ functional areas design and implement operating models/ organization design.
- Comfort with numbers, analytics, and tools/ platforms used to provide clients data backed advice especially in the areas of cost optimization, location selection, strategic workforce planning, etc.
- Independent management of project delivery including resource allocation/ management, proactive risk mitigation, profitability assessment, etc.
- Fluency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel (including pivot tables, macros, xlookup, etc.). Ability to use data analytics/ visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, and Alteryx is preferred.
- Business development experience including solution architecture, proposal development, pricing, and pitch preparation. Experience of managing bids from inception to closure preferred.
- Client presence and ability to work with the C-Suite and their direct reports, including the ability to communicate ideas in a professional, clear, concise and engaging manner
- Advanced skills/ knowledge of some of the following areas:
- Operating Model Design/ Organization Design
- Job evaluation and work measurement
- Work and Career Architecture Design
- Talent strategies with a particular focus on skills
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree. MBA/ Masters preferred.
