Senior Privacy Counsel - The PeterSan Group and PeterSan Legal Staffing : Job Details

We represent a pre IPO technology company looking to hire a dedicated privacy specialist to counsel the business and internal legal teams regarding various areas of privacy and data security law.

• J.D. degree from a top accredited institution and admission to practice (or in-house eligibility) to practice law in New York
• 5+ years combined experience in the areas of data privacy and protection, negotiating data privacy related agreements, understanding of the interplay between technology and data privacy and advising on consumer-related issues; top law firm and prior in-house experience preferred
• Draft or enhance data governance policies, including guidelines on data retention, access, privacy-by-design reviews, data protection impact assessments, data transfers and vendor management
• CIPP/US, CIPP/E or CIPM privacy certifications are a plus
• Experience providing counsel regarding data security issues, including incident response
