Heliene is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to lead our Product Engineering Program in solar module manufacturing. Reporting to the Director of Product Engineering, the Product Engineer will be responsible for managing all aspects of Product Engineering work at Heliene factories in Minnesota, USA and at our manufacturing partners overseas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create prototyping and testing plans.
  • Prototyping solar modules in Heliene module factories in the US and overseas. Testing of modules in-house or at partner labs in the US and overseas.
  • Implementation of requirements for quality inspection and testing of solar materials and modules in Heliene factories. Ensuring all quality, reliability, and performance requirements are met.
  • Identify, set up, and commission test equipment. Perform testing of materials and modules.
  • Identify areas for improvement of module quality, performance, and reliability. Develop improvement plans and help implement them in the factory.
  • Getting all product related functions implemented in module factories working collaboratively with Technology, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Logistics teams.
  • Provide technical support to Production, Engineering, and Quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director Product Engineering or delegate.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field with four (4) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training.

  • Solar Photovoltaics (PV) experience.
  • Hands-on experience of solar module manufacturing and testing.
  • Hands-on experience of testing solar components at material, module, and system level.
  • Deep understanding of solar materials and solar module quality, performance, and reliability.
  • Direct experience of working with suppliers of materials and products, if in the solar industry, this is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of certification, safety, and compliance of solar materials, modules, and systems.
  • Knowledge of solar industry trends, solar products, and solar systems.
  • Highly skilled in office productivity tools, lab tools, and data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Salary Range: $80,000 to $115,000 Annually
