POSITION SUMMARYThis position is responsible to manage and supervise one or multiple projects assigned to.In fulfilling this function the Project Engineer is to determine the technical requirements of the project across all Engineering disciplines. He is to determine the scope of work, the schedule and the manpower requirements taking into consideration the Company needs.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop the SOW of the project and its relevant KPIs. To include but not be limited to: Documents, Drawings, PTS, etc.
- Develop the Engineering Project schedule and Budget according to the overall Project schedule
- CDRLs schedule in accordance with Contract requirements
- Drawing Schedule in accordance with Purchasing and Manufacturing
- Manufacturing Work pack schedule in accordance with Production Planning & Control and Manufacturing.
- Resource Management as related to the assigned project.
- Using the Project Bid (Basis of Estimate) as a basis to establish resource requirements.
- Utilizing the project preliminary Production Control timeline establish a manpower schedule to assist in determining the resource needs.
- As the project develops; update the data developed in a) and b) to continue to maintain manpower resource requirements. This process includes change management and implementation support.

- Hold kickoff meeting to review project objectives and review project requirements
- Hold Specification/Contract review
- Establish regular project staff meetings (ref. Section B- this job instruction.)

- The Project Engineer must communicate with individuals/companies outside MMC as follows:
- Meet, as required, with potential outside providers of products and services designed to meet project contract requirements (i.e. equipment suppliers) are established and supported. Similar meetings are established to assist the Lead Engineers in resolution of equipment and software related problems.
- Meet, as required, with Project customers to resolve issues ranging from schedule and technical compliance to construction and testing clarifications.
- Must abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.

- The Project Engineer must have the drive and discipline to monitor, maintain, modify (as required) and enforce existing department policies and procedures.
- Timely decision making ability is considered to be of utmost importance as is the process he uses to evaluate the risks associated with said decisions. Multitasking capability is a necessity of the job.

- The Senior Project Engineer must have as a minimum a B.S. Engineering/Naval Architecture plus a minimum of 5 years of broad based ship design experience (or exhibit the Engineering Experience associated with a technical background commensurate with an all up ship design project).
- The Senior Project Engineer must have a minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Additional supervisory and or management degrees are a plus.
- Years of experience in ship design must include a familiarity with regulatory body requirements associated with the Ship Building industry (i.e. ABS, 46 CFR, IEEE, and The U.S. Coast Guard)
